MAH logoThe Museum of Art & History @ the McPherson Center invited organizations and institutions (local university and college, art centers, galleries, and businesses) that support the efforts of contemporary art to participate in a county-wide exhibition. Assemblage + Collage + Construction: A Collective View of Art from Multiple Santa Cruz County Venues is a premier collaboration between the Museum and thirteen other venues with a shared goal to increase arts and cultural opportunities for Santa Cruz County residents and visitors. All venues, including the Museum, will be free of charge for the duration of exhibitions.

As the leading institution of this county-wide collaboration, The Museum of Art & History provides a forum which supports and encourages the development, exchange and presentation of creative ideas that are manifested in one or more of these media: assemblage, collage and construction. "Our goal is to create a suberb cultural narrative that explores a new discourse of the creative process through this collaborative effort," says Susan Hillhouse, Curator of Exhibitions and Collections for the Museum.

The Museum thanks The Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County for its generous support as well as the Museum's membership affiliate group The Art Forum and STARS 2008 an annual fundraiser for exhibitions and education programs.
